We are currently seeking an ambitious, team-oriented, and hands-on Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our Aurora, CO and Denver, CO locations.

This is a highly involved role where the Controller will not only lead the accounting function but also actively participate in day-to-day accounting activities, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), inventory management, job costing, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being in the details, working alongside their team, and taking ownership of the accounting process from start to finish.

As an integral member of the leadership team, you will partner closely with operations to ensure financial accuracy, improve processes, and drive continuous profitability improvements

• Management and participation in all accounting and finance functions to include:
• Revenue recognition
• Job costing
• Inventory Management & Control
• Accounts Payables
• Accounts Receivables & Collections
• Perform and oversee all month-end and year-end close procedures.
• Provide direct support and thought partnership to the General Manager.
• Establish a strong working relationship with line managers to coordinate facility objectives while assisting in cost improvement initiatives.
• Partner with the General Manager and Division Controller on monthly forecasts, revenue planning, profitability studies, and expense analysis and management
• Interface with other service center functional groups (service, sales, dispatch, fleet, customer service, purchasing, safety, HR) to evaluate fiscal impact of current/future activities.
• Ensure adherence to corporate directed financial controls and escalate concerns regarding efficacy.
• Monitor financial control within various reporting functions such as material control, purchasing, labor reporting, central A/P processing, etc.
• Prepare and publish accurate and timely monthly financial statements, weekly estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual operating, and capital plans.
• Produce ad hoc reporting and analysis to guide unbiased decision intelligence.
• Meet with management to review variances to budget and variances to estimate to ensure accuracy and mutual understanding of drivers.
• Oversee and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Manage recurring audits and ensure all findings are addressed.
• Manage, train, and develop the accounting team.
• Knowledge and oversight of payroll.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline. Minimum of 6 years of related accounting experience and a minimum of 3 years managerial experience are required. Related education and/or training and/or experience may be considered for substitution.
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller, managing the accounting and finance operations for businesses $25M+.
• This roll is hands on with month end close procedures, including submittal and review of general ledger transactions. While a CPA is not required, thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required.
• JD Edwards software experience is preferred.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• Payroll experience a plus.
• Demonstrates strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with ability to establish cross functional relationships.
• Proven leadership and possession of problems solving skills.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include word processing, spreadsheet software and integrated ERP/ accounting systems.
