Overview

The Senior Manager, Content Strategy & Operations leads ARS's enterprise content function, serving as the strategic and operational owner of content planning, editorial governance, AI-enabled content operations, and cross-channel content execution.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand, Content & Creative, this role is responsible for translating enterprise marketing priorities into scalable content programs that support brand awareness, customer acquisition, SEO performance, AI search visibility, and business growth. Working in close partnership with the SEO Manager, this position ensures content is strategically planned, efficiently produced, and consistently executed across all customer touchpoints.

This leader owns the enterprise content operating model, including content planning, editorial governance, AI-assisted workflows, vendor management, content quality, and performance optimization. The role partners closely with the Senior Director to operationalize marketing priorities through integrated content planning, capacity management, and execution, ensuring the organization delivers the right content at the right time to support business objectives.

The Senior Manager also leads the evolution of modern content operations by balancing human expertise with AI-enabled content production to improve speed, scale, consistency, business impact, and visibility across traditional and AI-powered search experiences while maintaining ARS brand standards and editorial quality.

Responsibilities

  • Clear ownership and execution of the enterprise content strategy aligned with annual business priorities and marketing objectives.
  • A trusted, well-maintained enterprise content calendar that provides visibility, alignment, and prioritization across all marketing initiatives.
  • Efficient, scalable content operations supported by standardized workflows, clear governance, and AI-enabled production processes.
  • Consistent delivery of high-quality, on-brand content across web, SEO, social media, email, PR, paid media, and other marketing channels.
  • Strong partnership with the SEO Manager to translate keyword opportunities and search insights into high-impact content initiatives.
  • Content strategies are developed to strengthen visibility across both traditional search engines and AI-powered search experiences by aligning with evolving search behavior, structured content best practices, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) principles.
  • AI-assisted content workflows that improve production speed and efficiency while maintaining editorial quality and brand standards.
  • Editorial governance that ensures consistency in messaging, tone, accuracy, legal compliance, and customer experience across all content.
  • Content production that scales effectively through internal resources, AirOps, agencies, freelancers, and subject matter experts.
  • Content performance insights are incorporated into planning, resulting in continuous improvements in engagement, search visibility, AI discoverability, and conversion.
  • Cross-functional stakeholders have confidence in content priorities, timelines, ownership, and execution.
  • The content organization operates with greater efficiency, accountability, transparency, and measurable business impact.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in content strategy, content operations, editorial leadership, digital marketing, or related marketing leadership roles.
  • Experience leading enterprise content planning across multiple marketing channels and campaigns.
  • Proven success developing scalable content operations, editorial governance, and content production processes.
  • Experience managing content calendars, intake processes, prioritization frameworks, and cross-functional marketing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, AI search visibility, and content strategy, with experience partnering with SEO teams to develop search-driven content programs.
  • Experience working with AI-powered content platforms such as AirOps, Jasper, Writer, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, AI-assisted content production, human quality assurance, and editorial governance.
  • Experience balancing AI-generated content with brand standards, legal compliance, editorial quality, and customer experience.
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, external content partners, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel marketing, including web, SEO, email, social media, PR, paid media, and content marketing.
  • Experience using content management systems, project management platforms, and collaboration tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Data-informed mindset with experience using analytics and performance reporting to optimize content strategy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, improve operational efficiency, and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience within multi-location, franchise, home services, retail, or other customer-centric organizations preferred.
  • Experience leading or developing direct reports and fostering high-performing content teams preferred.
  • This is a remote role open to applicants residing anywhere, except California, Arizona, Colorado, and Washington
