Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department for effective handling of financial records and operations. Plans, directs, and coordinates human resources functions such as recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

The accounting specialist will be an integral part of the accounting team, reporting directly to the controller. The candidate must be well versed in accounting policies and procedures and is proficient in excel. The ideal candidate is willing to learn, self-motivated, a team player and does not mind going above and beyond when needed.

The hourly pay for this position ranges from $28-$32/hr.


Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
• Receive and verify invoices for goods and services
• Create and receive purchase orders when needed
• Research invoices and resolve vendor discrepancies
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Build vendor relationships
• Set up new vendors/subcontractors
• Process manual checks from branch
• Track pending returns and credits
• Collect and process payments
• Assist with aging report
• Manage customer ledgers
• Manage customer service agreements
• Assist with collections
• Process customer refunds as needed
• Manage and maintain accurate truck inventories
• Post journal entries as needed
• Assist controller with month end duties
• Aid operational managers as needed

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in accounting is required.
  •  Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of labor law required. 
  • Bachelors degree preferred
