Overview

The Vice President, Marketing leads data-driven strategies to achieve annual revenue and profit goals through performance media channels. This role is accountable for driving demand generation and customer acquisition, leading media strategy, testing, and identifying new growth opportunities. The VP collaborates closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Marketing and Field leadership to ensure alignment of performance media investments with the broader marketing strategies while managing relationships with internal teams and external media partners.

 

This is a remote role with required travel - excludes WA, CO, & CA applicants. 

Responsibilities

Success Defined:

  • Revenue & Performance Goals - Delivers on all Marketing KPIs including volume, conversion and profit through performance media channels.
  • Data-Driven Leadership - Leads with a data-first approach, leveraging analytics and metrics to inform decisions and guide marketing strategies. Continuously monitors performance data to optimize media channels, aligning efforts with revenue and growth objectives.
  • Performance Media Leadership - Oversee the performance media team and agency partnerships across channels (Video, Audio, and Print), ensuring alignment with financial and operational targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Field Operations, Marketing Analytics, and Finance to improve returns on media investments.
  • Innovation & Growth – Cultivates a culture of innovation by regularly testing and implementing new media channels, audiences, offers/promotions, and creative.
  • Creative Development - Work with the creative team to develop messaging that achieves both demand generation and customer acquisition goals.
  • High Standards – Makes winning, innovation, and high standards a habit in Marketing – ensuring internal and external partners stay on-strategy and process.

  • Develop and execute media strategies that deliver measurable results, including increases across all key metrics including, but not limited to, brand consideration and familiarity, lead volume and conversion.
  • Analyze campaign performance to adjust ensuring channel performance meets or exceeds performance goals.
  • Take initiative and bring insights (category, competitive, consumer) and solutions to company leadership.
  • Conduct regular audits of performance media channels ensure alignment across strategic and operational objectives.
  • Inspire and guide team members to optimize current programs and elevate overall performance. Drive alignment and collaboration across teams, ensuring all partners are working towards shared goals.
  • Align channel strategy with ARS’s seasonal business needs, ensuring both individual branches and brands meet business objectives.

 

Grows People/Teams (Internal/External)

  • Build and lead a data-driven performance media team, ensuring proficiency in key analytics platforms
  • Foster a culture of accountability by setting clear metrics and tracking individual/team contributions regularly.
  • Use data to identify skill gaps and provide coaching, aiming for a improvements in team productivity over 12 months.
  • Develop succession plans to maintain high retention rates, keeping turnover below industry standards (<10%).
  • Ensures growth, training, compensation, and benefit opportunities are aligned and available to all employees.

 

Fact-Based Decision Making

  • Collaborate with marketing analysts to track operational metrics using data for tactical adjustments.
  • Use predictive analytics to forecast volume trends, budget requirements, and ROI for proactive strategy adjustments.
  • Implement A/B testing to optimize campaign creative and targeting strategies.
  • Leads proven methods of analysis (inductive and deductive) to determine root cause of issues and identify/evaluate alternatives.
  • Continuously refine performance media strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Tackle complex problems with innovative solutions that drive business success.
  • Solves complex problems within and beyond his/her direct responsibility.

 

Effective Communicator

  • Deliver data-driven presentations to senior leadership with clear justifications for strategic changes and resource allocation.
  • Ensure all performance media communications are aligned with brand messaging, using performance data to optimize tone, format, and media channel choice.
  • Foster cross-functional alignment by demonstrating how performance media supports broader marketing and revenue goals with data-backed strategies.
  • Persuades through formal and informal presentation in order to get results.

Qualifications

Key Skills:

  • Performance Marketing and Demand Generation Expertise - Proven track-record of growing, managing and optimizing performance media channels. (e.g., video, search, print, affiliate).
  • Data Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making - Proficient in analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and data visualization for campaign insights.
  • Strategic Leadership and Growth Channel Development - Skilled in identifying and scaling growth channels, with experience aligning media strategy to business goals.
  • Relationship Management - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executive leadership, teams, and external partners to create unified marketing strategies.
  • Leadership & Communication – Strong leader capable of building high-performing teams and communicating across departments.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving and Adaptability - Skilled in navigating complex issues, market shifts, and implementing agile solutions.

 

Experience Required:

  • Education – bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Work Experience – 10+ years of experience in demand-generation and acquisition marketing.
  • Proven success in leading a larger performance marketing team where media investments exceed $100M annually
  • Experience in Direct-to-Consumer acquisition marketing is required.
  • Strength in data, metrics, and performance marketing is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the home services or adjacent industry.
