BI Data Engineer

This position is responsible for design, development, and implementation of dimensionally modeled data storage, retrieval, and ETL solutions to support the Strategic Solutions Department to provide insightful, timely, and accurate Business Intelligence to the Business.

• Designs and implements complex/shared Dimensional Models in an Azure Data Warehouse environment to support multifaceted analytics and reporting objectives
• Designs, and develops complex Tables, Views, and Stored Procedures to support the Data Warehousing, Reporting, and analytics initiatives of the Business Intelligence team.
• Investigates, develops, and implements effective ETL Processes using a variety of methods to support the company Data Warehouse
• Develops efficient and effective data extraction procedures.
• Helps maintain the integrity and security of the company Azure Data Warehouse
• Creates, maintains, and validates dimensionally modeled data sets for a variety of needs.
• Takes initiative in identifying issues pertaining to data management and communicates these issues to management.
• Accurately completes all tasks within given time constraints.
• Is Capable or working on multiple tasks at the same time.
• Communicates effectively with Team Members and Leadership.

• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or related field required (Applicable work experience may be substituted)
• 5+ years' experience in a data management and/or development
• Ability to work in distributed systems
• Proven proficiency with MS SQL required
• Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems in a timely manner.
• Proficiency utilizing ETL tools including but not limited to ADF, BCP, SSIS, PowerShell
• Experience retrieving data from vendor API’s via ADF, PowerShell and SSIS
• Experience with Azure SQL DB, Data Factories, and Data Lake
• Experience developing Dimensionally Modeled Data/Star Schema preferred
• Proven ability to communicate effectively on both business and technical levels
