Plumbing Trainee - San Diego, CA

In a training capacity and under the supervision of a journeyman plumber or license holder, provides assistance in both commercial and residential drain and plumbing issues that require service or repair. 

• Assists in cleaning drains in homes and commercial buildings.
• Assists in performing pipe inspection with cameras.
• Assists in unclogging sewers, kitchen and bathroom sinks, tubs, toilets, etc. using plumbing snakes and machines.
• Assists in performing preventive maintenance in commercial establishments by pumping grease traps.
• May assist in all plumbing repairs or installation of new or existing plumbing equipment.
• May assist in the repair of drain lines.
• May assist in performing some excavation for repairs.
• May assist in providing cost estimates for other plumbing services.
• May assist in using sewer cameras and sewer locators to determine options.
• May assist in the installation of garbage disposal systems.
• May pick up and deliver parts.
• Maintains and fuels vehicle, stocks the service truck with adequate parts and maintains machinery.
• Transports materials and tools to the job site and provides proper accounting of tools.

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must have basic plumbing capabilities.  Knowledge of local and national plumbing code is desired. A valid driver’s license and good communications skills are required.
