ARS Heating Cooling Plumbing & Electric of Myrtle Beach is seeking a Generator Maintenance/ Service Electrician to join our team!!!


We are seeking an experienced Generator Maintenance/Service Electrician with a valid driver’s license and 3+ years of experience to join our team as a Generator Service Technician.  The Generator Service Technician will perform commissioning, preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnostic procedures and repairs on generators and related equipment to maximize safe operation and life-cycle of equipment as well as other electrical service work in residential and light commercial settings.  Residential service work, such as diagnosing, estimating, and correcting common electrical issues in residential and light commercial settings.  Upgrading electrical services, installing transfer switches, disconnects, installing wiring, installing or assisting with the installations of equipment and generators is required of this position. 

This is a customer facing position requiring good communication skills, enthusiastic attitude, and great customer relation skills.  This position is a hands-on maintenance of our customer’s power generation equipment and other electrical needs as well as support to all aspects of our electrical service department.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily including the following:

  • Prepare written estimates for recommended corrective repairs noted during the service calls
  • Assist other electricians, technicians, and customers with technical support in person or in the field
  • Display the ability to apply knowledge from past jobs to complete more complex jobs in the future
  • Perform problem solving and make logical decisions
  • Carry out instructions in written or diagram form
  • Safely transport self, tools, and equipment to and from worksites
  • Perform diagnostic testing, pulling cable, carry tools and other items
  • Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed by following all documentation procedures as instructed
  • Follow all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment
  • Other duties as required


  • 3+ Years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Generac Generators and Controls with Air Cooled Service Certification preferred
  • Proficient with electronic communications, specifically text and email
  • Provide and maintain own hand tools and meters required to perform basic job functions
  • Self-motivated independent worker
  • Display ability to follow instructions and work well with virtually no direct supervision
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code with respect to job functions
  • Must be able to pass a background and driving record check as well as drug screening
